Activity 4

Female masturbation and its erroneous connotation

In the first instance we understand masturbation as "stimulating the genitals or the areas erogenous by hand or other means to provide sexual enjoyment." According to the RAE, but this is not seen in an egalitarian way from the different genres.
If we talk about female masturbation tends to take it as something bad or improper but why is it taken from that point of view? The current patriarchal system mainly aims to dominate the woman, alienate her from her body in order to leave it at the disposition of man, for this reason female masturbation takes a reproachful character due to the opposition to this system, which assumes in the Female gender the obligation to please and satisfy the man, positioning in an estate inferior, as if being a woman was not enough to have the same rights as a normal person. The self satisfaction given in this practice without the need to resort to a phallus presents the risk of the release of taboos that are put on the female gender and therefore the liberation of the woman from the power that exerts in it the man.
This applied practice in women is often awarded negative concepts even though it is the first instance of exploration of the body itself, where we know the functioning of this and we manage to develop in the long term a sexual fullness by means of a Prior knowledge of the same subject in front of his or her own organism.
"For man there is but one genital stage, while there are two for the woman;" "It is much more at risk of not crowning its sexual evolution, staying in the children's stadium and therefore becoming neurotic." (The second Sex, Simone de Beauvoir, p. 18)
Simone de Beauvoir presents us as the exploration of our body allows us to advance through our stages and achieve the level of full development in each one of them, and that repressing it could truncate this progress, thus enabling problems in the long term. So, why do we assume that masturbation in us is a bad thing? The beliefs and rules that have been imposed within each society, mainly religious or other cases of other nature, compel us to think that we are not sufficiently independent and unable to make decisions about our bodies; What to do with it and how to treat it.
"We are born with a body organized to feel, there are specific functions that are activated at the time of receiving a pleasant stimulus (...), but cultural and religious norms do not allow women to enjoy the fullness of their sexuality." (sexologist Luz Jaimes)
The reduced acceptance of the feminine onanism is provoked also by the little knowledge of this, without information on the subject loses the daily routine and is assumed as something that has to be hidden, a forbidden and repudiatable action, which further increases the Negative judgments towards this.
The disapproval of female masturbation is mere ignorance; We can see that if we look for those two small words in a Web browser related to some pornographic content, which brings us to the vision that is given to women as a sexual object, a container with various holes where man as "the superior" will be able to satisfy any "need" that is presented to him in the sexual field.
By way of conclusion by the exposed in the essay we can say that female masturbation becomes negative thanks to the influence of established morality, according to the rules of conduct that are acquired thanks to this, acts such as masturbation in women often Branded as forbidden and immoral, although it would suffice with greater acceptance in terms of female sexuality, the knowledge of his own body and leave the morbidity that is imposed in front of the intimate areas of us. The change will start at the moment when we begin to liberate ourselves from the bonds of prejudices and of which they will say, of taboos and reproaches, in this instance of recognition such topics as masturbation will no longer constitute erroneous connotations, if not to the simple act of Self satisfaction and self pleasure.

second activity

hello,
Well, when I was a child, I always thought I was a doctor, caring for and healing people, besides wearing the typical white apron, which at that moment seemed very nice, but all this lost my interest when I realized that I hated biology , purpose, so I began to realize that I loved what related to humanistic areas, that's why all my college options were directed there. When I introduced myself to college I had three options: laws, social work and history, but finally, considering all the implications of each, I felt that my personality and purpose of life were more represented in social work than in others. Social work has fulfilled all my expectations, giving me knowledge and experiences that I expected to receive in order to carry out the work I want, which relates to children and the power of the transformation of their environment, in order to achieve a turnaround that allows them to grow in a better way.
